Paul Nolan

Director of Research

Paul joined Asset Preservation Advisors in June of 2011. As Director of Research, Mr. Nolan heads up APA’s Credit Research Group and conducts portfolio analytics and investment research on state and local bond issuers. Mr. Nolan began his career in the financial services industry in 2001. Prior to joining APA, he was employed by McDonnell Investment Management, where he was responsible for providing both the municipal and taxable portfolio management teams with fixed income credit and market research, with an emphasis on healthcare credits. Mr. Nolan was also previously employed by Moody’s Investors Service, where he served as a municipal analyst, as well as by the New York City Council Capital Budget Unit, where he served as a Financial Analyst. Paul received a Master of Science in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from the Milano School of Policy, Management, and Environment at The New School (formerly the New School For Social Research) in New York City and also received a B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Buffalo. Paul is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, as well as the Georgia State University (GSU) Andrew Young School of Policy Studies Center for State and Local Finance Advisory Board, and periodically serves as a guest speaker and lecturer for Debt Management and Governmental Financial Statements and Accounting Courses at GSU. Paul is a former Americorps*VISTA volunteer and during his free time, he enjoys coaching youth baseball at Ocee Park in Johns Creek, GA, and playing golf.
